Meg Griffin, eldest of the three children on hit US animated sitcom ‘Family Guy’, is poised to follow household pet Brian through the show’s exit door, according to the latest odds.

Brian, voiced by show creator Seth McFarlane, was killed off in a tragic hit-and-run scene aired on the show recently and was swiftly replaced by a new family pet.

Voiced by Tony Sirico – famed for playing Paulie ‘Walnuts’ Gualtieri in ‘The Sopranos’ – the new dog in Quahog, Vinny Griffin, is set to alter the dynamic of the show and have a more combative relationship with homicidal baby Stewie.

Brian’s passing has rankled with many fans of the show and those hoping for a Bobby Ewing-style return to the screen can back a permanent comeback at 10/1.

However, much more likely is another death in the family with Meg, voiced by ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ star Mila Kunis, the favourite for the chop.

Meg, perennial outsider within the Griffin clan, leads the betting at 4/1 to be the next character killed off the show, while Cleveland Brown, former neighbour of the Griffins, is second favourite at 5/1.

However, the complications that killing Brown off in ‘Family Guy’ may have on his spin-off series ‘The Cleveland Show’ mean better value can be had elsewhere.

Joe Swanson, the show’s wheelchair-bound policeman, is also priced at 5/1, while promiscuous pilot Glenn Quagmire can be backed at 6/1 to meet his maker.

Matriarch Lois Griffin, killed off once before only to return in the second installment of a two-part episode, is a 12/1 shot to be given a permanent send off.

Main character Peter is the rank outsider at 50/1 and while it seems more than unlikely that he will follow in Brian’s footsteps, he may want to avoid further confrontation with any giant chickens!
