Jodie Whittaker and Kris Marshall are the joint favourites to be named as the new Doctor Who on Sunday afternoon.

As Whovians eagerly await the news of their latest Doctor, punters are getting stuck into the betting.

And they’re are struggling to decide between Jodie Whittaker and Kris Marshall, who find themselves chalked up at 6/4 apiece.

One-time favourite Phoebe Waller-Bridge is now fancied at 6/1, and the same price is on offer for Tom Rosenthal.

Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure is also proving a popular bet at 10/1.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The money suggests punters think it’s a two-horse race between Whittaker and Marshall.

“However, it’s worth remembering Peter Capaldi was a complete surprise last time round, so it might be worth looking at some 100/1 shots as well as the favourites.”
