Famous Name helped the Safety Net bet get back on the winning bandwagon on Friday and we are hoping that the biggest name in the women’s draw at Wimbledon can make us another £20 today.

Dermot Weld’s runner was a comfortable winner of a Group Three contest at the Curragh and his victory at horse racing odds of 4/6 helped our bank balance increase to £190.50.

We are now relying on Serena Williams to help us past the £200 barrier as she faces Marion Bartoli in the fourth round at Wimbledon.

Williams may have only played five tournament matches so far in 2011, with all of the first four matches going to the maximum of three sets.

However, she looked in ominous form to breeze past Maria Kirilenko in the third round at Wimbledon and if she repeats this quality of performance she will be virtually impossible to stop in her quest for a third successive Wimbledon title.

Bartoli knows the challenge of the task she faces as she has described her clash with Williams as the “ultimate challenge” and will be relying on the American being off with her timing and struggling with her first serve if she is to claim victory.

The French player has also lost the first set in each of her last two matches and she will certainly struggle to comeback against Williams in the same way she managed to against Lourdes Dominguez-Lino and Flavia Pennetta.

Eastbourne winner Bartoli certainly represents the biggest Wimbledon challenge for Williams so far, but it remains to be seen how well she has recovered from a gruelling third-round showdown with Pennetta.

Williams is 2/9 in the Wimbledon odds to beat Bartoli and we are staking £90 on the victory to stick to our aims of making £20 each day.

Current Status:
Bank: £190.50
Today’s stake: £90
Best case scenario: £210.50
Worst case scenario: £100.50

Last Safety Net bet: Famous Name to win at the Curragh @ 4/6

Wealth warning: although we are confident the safety net bet’s strategy will be profitable over a period of time, the nature of sport means we cannot guarantee you will win every single time.
