Maria Sharapova booked her spot in her second Wimbledon final with a comprehensive victory over wildcard Sabine Lisicki on centre court.

Earlier in the day Petra Kvitova rallied after losing the second set to blow away fourth seed Victoria Azarenka and will face Sharapova for her maiden Grand Slam title in Saturday’s final.

Pre-tournament favourite Sharapova has justified her Wimbledon odds but there will be many cheering on Kvitova in the final after the Czech became many punters underdog for the Wimbledon title.

It will be a battle between two of the most powerful hitters on the women’s tour and Sharapova will have the advantage heading into the final.

The Russian is yet to drop a set at this year’s championships and beat Kvitova in their only meeting on the hard court’s of Memphis last year.

A Wimbledon final is a lot different to a WTA Tour match and punters should be prepared for the unexpected, but on current form Sharapova will deserve her favouritism.

Friday sees the men battle for a place in the Wimbledon final and all eyes will be on centre court for Andy Murray’s match-up with Rafael Nadal.

It’s going to be a very tough ask for the Scot who doesn’t boast the greatest of head-to-head records with the Spaniard, but the whole of centre court will be cheering Murray on and it won’t be easy for Nadal.

In the other semi-final we have the man who ousted Federer in a classic taking on the man who has lost just one match all year.

Novak Djokovic starts the match as the favourite for Friday’s semi-final but Tsonga has turned the Serbian over on four of the five occasions Djokovic has started the match at 4/9 or shorter.
