Kevin Anderson may have been the surprise winner over Andy Murray in the US Open but there is plenty to suggest that the towering South African can continue his run in the tournament.
The 6ft8in Johannesburg man sent the Brit packing 7-6, 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 to reach the quarter finals in New York for the first time and while he will have his work cut out to beat two-time major winner Stan Wawrinka, Anderson gets the nod in this tasty treble picked out by the Ladbrokes News team.
He may not have the fastest serve in the game but he still packs a punch and with his height creating angles the likes of Wawrinka rarely see the Swiss man could be in trouble here.
Anderson has won four of their seven meetings so far and showed against Murray that when his service game is on point he is extremely hard to break down.
The South African has triumphed in four straight against Wawrinka, including a straight sets win at Queen’s earlier this year.
Two-time finalist Azarenka has dropped just a single set in the tournament thus far and will be confident of maintaining that stat against Halep.
The Belarusian has met the Romanian twice before and both matches ended in straight sets victories for the former world number one.
Federer is in fine form having not dropped a set at the tournament so far and with the Swiss master last dropping one to Gasquet in Rome in 2011 this one is something of a hard sell.
However, the Frenchman has beaten some strong competition to get this far and with just one of his last five defeats coming without winning a set he should be backed to get at least one here.
