With the Western and Southern Open at the business end, we’ve carefully considered a quarter final treble involving Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and Jelena Jankovic which pays just over 4/1 with Ladbrokes.

Andy Murray to beat Tomas Berdych @ 4/9

Andy Murray’s recent record against Tomas Berdych on the hard courts suggests that the world number two will comfortably beat the Czech. With a record of two victories, including one during Murray’s successful US Open campaign last year, he has lost just once on the surface against the world number six. Ominously for Berdych, Murray is on a run of nine victories from his last ten matches including a comprehensive victory over Julien Benneteau in the previous round and has dropped just three sets in the process.

Rafael Nadal to beat Roger Federer 2-0 @ 8/11

Rafael Nadal looks on course to record a 23rd career victory over formidable Swiss Roger Federer. It has been on the hard court where Federer has struggled against the Spaniard, winning just two of their 10 meetings on the surface. With five of their meetings won by Nadal in straight sets, and with victories in seven successive matches on the blue courts, it would be difficult to look at anything other than a Nadal victory in this clash.

Jelena Jankovic to beat Roberta Vinci @ 11/10

Despite being ranked below her opponent, Jelena Jankovic’s most recent victory against Italian Robert Vinci should give the Serb the edge in this close match. With two victories a piece on this surface, and with identical records in their last three tournaments on the hard stuff it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this match go into a third and deciding set. Jankovic has won three of their four meetings which have gone the distance, and don’t discount history repeating itself for the world number 15.
