Having finally ended a lengthy winless streak against Novak Djokovic in the final of the Rome Masters many people are backing Andy Murray to finally break his French Open duck this year.

The Brit has never made it past the semi-final at Roland Garros but the confidence he will have gained by seeing off the world number one in straight sets last week could mean a first final appearance  and a third Major for the 29-year-ols.

And the good news for those planning on backing Murray to add the French Open to his Wimbledon, US Open, Olympic and Davis Cup titles is that we’re boosting his odds ahead of the tournament.

While many have slashed the odds on a Murray success in Paris in the wake of his win over Djokovic, we’ve boosted him from 5/1 to a tempting 6/1 to come good on the continent.

Despite losing to Murray in Italy, Djokovic remains the tournament favourite at 8/11, with King of Clay Rafa Nadal next in the betting at 4/1.

Murray is third in the betting and given his current form – and the enhanced odds – he could prove the value selection this time round.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s outright market Serena Williams tops the bill once more as the 2/1 favourite, with Victoria Azarenka the next best at 5/1.

However, thanks to another timely Price Boost from our trading floor Romanian hopeful Simona Halep could attract plenty of interest with her odds rising from 6/1 to 8/1.

The 24-year-old didn’t drop a set en route to the final in 2014 before losing 4-6, 7-6, 4-6 to Maria Sharapova.

The Russian will not be in France to defend her crown this time round, reducing the level of competition for Halep and while Williams has won this tournament three times, and is the current champion, it is by far her weakest of the four Majors.

If Halep is to break her duck in the Majors the French represents arguably her best chance and at the enhanced price there’s every reason to back her to do just that in 2016.
