As players continue their US Open preparations at the Legg Mason Classic, Mardy Fish takes on Marin Cilic in what could be an absorbing tie in Washington.
A towering 6ft 6in specimen, Cilic is the marginal favourite to win at 4/5, as he has won both previous matches between the two players.
The Croatian also has the higher world ranking (13 to Fish’s 35), and the 21-year-old’s booming serves could be a thorn in his opponent’s side.
Having won his last two ATP Tour events, however, Fish is arguably playing the best tennis of his career, and he could be worth backing to beat Cilic at 10/11.
If Fish is to win, the match is likely to go the distance, and a three-set victory for the 28-year-old is temptingly priced at 3/1.
Following his win at the Atlanta Tennis Championships, Fish’s odds to win the US Open were reduced from 100/1 to 66/1, and the American could be a dark horse at Flushing Meadows.
Andy Roddick vs Gilles Simon
Later on in Washington, Andy Roddick, who is the 11/4 favourite to win the Legg Mason Classic, takes on Frenchman Gilles Simon.
Roddick is a hugely convincing 2/9 to win, while his world number 33 opponent is priced at 3/1 to claim a shock victory.
Like Fish, Roddick has his eye on the US Open, and the 2003 champion at Flushing Meadows should prove too powerful for Simon, who he has beaten in both their previous meetings.
John Isner vs Xavier Malisse
A third American in action at the Washington event is John Isner, who is expected to dismiss Xavier Malisse with minimal fuss at 2/5. ATP Tour veteran Malisse is priced at 7/4 to win.
