Football fans are well-known for their occasionally volatile reactions to their club’s transfer dealings but in the case of Hearts and Osman Sow, it’s fair to say the Jam Tarts faithful seem fairly nonplussed.
In fact, quite a few of Midlothian’s supporters have found the striker’s impending £1.5m move to China pretty bizarre.
The 25-year-old only has five months left on his contract which does beg the question – what are Chinese Super League outfit Henan Jianye doing spending so much to secure his services?
@BroadcastMoose Osman Sow moving from Hearts to China, 1.5mil. Great deal for us, only 6 months left on his contract! Thoughts?

Meanwhile, thoughts have naturally turned to how the money will be re-invested. Dundee United’s John Souttar is believed to be a target.
Wouldnt be surprised if hearts still get soutar n another up there sleeve after getting over a million for osman sow! — Andy hynes (@andyhy88) February 1, 2016
There are some fairly upset Jambos.
Sad to see Osman Sow go, but £1.5 million for a player with 5 months left on his contract is obscene!

But fans of other SPFL teams rate the sale as a decent bit of business.
£1.5 million for a man with 4 months left of his contract? Fair play to Hearts, that’s brilliant business for Osman Sow.
