Mark McGhee’s Motherwell got their Ladbrokes Premiership campaign off to a flyer on Saturday with the Steelmen 2-1 winners over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

The victory marked the fourth time in five visits that Well have left East Ayrshire with all three points with goals from Lionel Ainsworth and Marvin Johnson doing the damage on this occasion.

Killie rallied through Martin Smith’s late consolation but it proved to be an afternoon to forget for Lee Clark and his side with the home gaffer sent to the stands during the defeat.
