It’s as you were for the top three in the Ladbrokes Premiership after leaders Celtic, second-placed Aberdeen and Hearts in third all secured narrow wins at the weekend.
The Bhoys travelled to Partick Thistle for the early kick-off and it was business as usual as the league’s top scorer Leigh Griffiths gave the visitors the leader on the stroke of half time.
Callum McGregor doubled the lead shortly after the re-start but Ronny Deila’s men were unable to kick on from there and the Jags made it an uncomfortable last five minutes when Sean Walsh’s 85th-minute spot kick threatened to make a game of it.
The Hoops held on, however, and maintain their one point lead at the top with a game in hand over Aberdeen.
The Dons took to the pitch knowing Celtic had won and started in earnest fashion against Kilmarnock, with Ash Taylor giving the hosts the lead on 37 minutes.
Killie levelled through Josh Magennis on 47 minutes and with more shots on target than the Dons the visitors were deflated when Shay Logan struck in the 71st-minute to seal the game.
The win keeps Derek McInnes’ men well in the title race but Killie are just eight points better off than bottom side Dundee United, who have a game in hand on their rivals.
Elsewhere at the top, three Hearts virtually assured themselves a top three finish with a 1-0 win over Dundee. Jamie Walker’s fourth goal in five games just after the break was enough to seal the win and leave the Jambos 17 points clear in third.
At the other end of the table Hamilton earned a hard-fought victory away at Inverness to draw level 33 points with the Caley Jags.
That result leaves both sides just five points above Killie in 11th, with the relegation battle set to heat up over the coming weeks.
