Jackson Irvine has picked up the Ladbrokes Premiership Player of the Month award following a series of superb displays for Ross County.
County lifted their first major honour in March, lifting the Scottish League Cup trophy. But they also had a successful month in the Ladbrokes Premiership, removing themselves from the relegation pack with a few stellar results.
The versatile Irvine helped guide the Staggies to a crucial victory away at Kilmarnock, as well as an impressive draw against fifth-placed St Johnstone in Perth.
An imposing figure in the County defence, the former Celtic youngster has continued to develop his game and has been an integral part of the Staggies’ successes in league and cup during this campaign.
The modest 23-year-old, though, was quick to heap praise on his teammates at the Dingwall outfit, telling BBC Sport “I’ve come such a long way and I’ve got everyone at the club to thank.”
Irvine went on to say – “individual awards only come as a result of you playing in a team and my team mates have been spectacular this season.”
Quickly establishing himself as one of the league’s most talented and combative defensive midfielders, Irvine has also chipped in with two Premiership goals this season.
We’re offering 6/1 on the talented Aussie to reach five league strikes by the end of this campaign.
