Aberdeen v Hearts: Dons’ Pittodrie record makes this a home banker

Aberdeen look set to extend their advantage over Rangers in second place, as the in-form hosts face an out-of-sorts Heart of Midlothian in the Ladbrokes Premiership on Friday night.

The Dons have won each of their last eight home games in all competitions, including six victories to nil – chalking up 21 goals along the way.

And that Pittodrie perfection is unlikely to end this weekend, with Hearts having endured a horrible spell on the road. Indeed, Ian Cathro’s side have lost five of their last seven away games, and won just once on their travels since the end of September.

That means the 3/4 for an Aberdeen win looks like easy money, with the Jam Tarts 15/4 to cause an upset, and 13/5 on offer for a share of the spoils.

But that’s not the only market where Derek McInnes’ side look well worth backing.

On the back of three home clean sheets on the bounce, we recommend jumping on Aberdeen to win to nil at 2/1, especially with their visitors drawing a blank at Partick Thistle on their last away assignment.

In the goalscorer markets, our money is on Niall McGinn. The Dons’ wing wizard has netted seven times in his past 17 games, including the winner against Motherwell last weekend.

He looks generously priced at 9/4 to score anytime, with 16/1 for him to grab a third brace of the season.

If you’re looking to get on a scoreline, it’s 6/1 for Aberdeen to record a fourth 1-0 win in five games. And if that’s not enough to convince you, the last meeting between this pair ended…yep, you guessed it, 1-0 to the Dons.
