Fifth meets sixth in the Ladbrokes Championship tonight as Queen of the South welcome Raith Rovers to Palmerston Park and goals appear to be the order of the day.
The Doonhamers have scored in six of their last seven games in the Scottish second tier and Rovers’ record is even more impressive with Ray McKinnon’s men netting in eight of their last nine.
Rovers may have won the last two meetings but it is the hosts who go into the tie as favourites at 23/20, with Raith priced up as 23/10 underdogs and the draw available at 12/5.
Rovers have come out on top in the last two outings but that ended a run of four wins in five meetings for the Doonhammers.
If fact eight of the last 10 meetings between these two sides have seen the home side emerge victorious, making the hosts the tempting choice here.
However, the bet of the day could come courtesy of the latest Ladbrokes price boost with a Queen of the South win and both sides scoring enhanced from 11/4 to 7/2.
With the hosts seeing both sides net in four of their last six outings and Rovers in five of their last six this is one price boost not to be overlooked.
With goals being expected and three or more seen in six of the last 10 meetings the 17/20 on over 2.5 goals certainly tempts but with a four-goal, five-goal and even seven-goal thriller in recent meetings the over 3.5 (21/10), over 4.5 (5/1) and over 5.5 (12/1) markets could also appeal.
A win for either side could mean a move up to the top four and with Rangers and Hibs seemingly assured of top two places they could prove vital points in the race for the remaining two play-off places.
