Ladbrokes Championship: Five Star Rangers maintain perfect start

Rangers extended their lead at the top of the Ladbrokes Championship table with another comprehensive victory.  The Glasgow outfit put on another fine display in front of the Ibrox faithful as they cruised to a 5-0 victory over Raith.

The Gers have now won all five league games, and scored a whopping 19 goals in the process as they look in unstoppable form.

Martyn Waghorn notched his fourth and fifth league goals to send him to the top of the goal scoring charts, and the prolific defender James Tavernier once again found the net.

However, it was the performance of the unheralded Nathan Oduwa that really caught the eye.

The on-loan Tottenham youngster dazzled in another devastating performance, as his pace and skill bamboozled the visiting defence.

Warburton seems to have done some canny business bring in the 19-year-old, along with fellow loan signing Gedion Zelalem who came from North London rivals Arsenal.

At the opposite end of the table, Livingston fell to last place after a humbling 4-2 home defeat at the hands of Morton.  The hosts were down to 10 men after half an hour, as Ben Gordon saw red for a rash and cynical hack at winger Conor Pepper.

The visitors took full advantage, as they tore Livi to shreds with a devastating four goal blitz and moved into the top four with the victory.

Ian Murray picked up his first league win as St Mirren manager with an impressive win over Queen of the South in Dumfries.

First half strikes from Sean Kelly and the evergreen Steven Thompson guided the Buddies to the points, condemning the Doonhamers to their fourth home defeat in-a-row in all competitions.

In the weekend’s final fixture, Alloa clambered off the foot of the table with a much needed 2-0 away win against Dumbarton.

The Wasps were pointless after four defeats going into the match, but strikes from Graeme Holmes and Edward Ferns made for an enjoyable trip home to Clackmannanshire.
