It’s ‘one down, two to go’ as far as Dundee United are concerned. They brushed aside Greenock Morton in the Ladbrokes Premiership play-off Quarter-Final. But things will be much closer as they face Falkirk in the semi.

Both clubs head into the first leg in good form, and there’s little to split the pair on their Head-to-Head record. Falkirk have won two of this season’s meetings, with United triumphing once, and a 1-1 draw in last month’s clash.

That means it’s hard to split them in the match betting, with the Tangerines 23/20 for victory, while Falkirk are 21/10 and the draw is priced up at 23/10.

However, there’s some savvy short-odds bets – as well as a few plausible long shots – in other markets.

United have netted in 13 of their last 15 games, while Falkirk have gone one better by registering in 14 of theirs. So the 4/6 for Both Teams to Score is more-or-less a banker.

So, who’s going to get among the goals?

In United’s last game, we tipped up Blair Spittal to be last goalscorer at odds of 8/1 and he duly delivered, rounding out the scoring for the third time in five games.

He’s 3/1 to score again, while his streak of late goals make him well worth backing to be Last Goalscorer at 9/1.

And there’s evidence to suggest that United could take until the second period to really click into gear. In each of the two legs against Morton, Ray McKinnon’s men netted their first goal of the game between the 51st and 60th minute, and they’re 10/1 to do so again here.

As for the Bairns, young forward Nathan Austin has scored in each of their last three matches, and there’s 23/10 about him netting anytime here.
