The world’s best snooker players will be taking to the baize at Newport next month for the Welsh Open – and there are plenty of brilliant betting opportunities.

Fresh off the back of his victory at the Ladbrokes Mobile Masters, Ding Junhui could certainly be worth betting on. The Chinese was brilliant in his 14-4 demolition of Marco Fu in the final and could certainly be worth backing in the Welsh Open snooker betting.

Also lined up to play at the Welsh Open is Wales’ own Mark Williams. The world No.3 made it to the final of the UK Championships in December, narrowly losing 10-9 to John Higgins.

Backing him to win on home soil could be worth a bet in the Ladbrokes snooker betting market.

Ronnie O’Sullivan last won the Welsh Open in 2005 and hasn’t made the best starts to his year, losing in the opening round of the Ladbrokes Mobile Masters 4-6 against Mark Allen.

O’Sullivan may not be at the top of his game at the moment, but you can never count the Englishman out. He is favourite in the snooker betting odds for the world championships at 9/2 and could be well worth a bet in the Welsh Open odds.

Second favourite in the world championship betting odds is John Higgins. The Scot has endured a miserable year following controversies away from the table, but is currently 11/2 to win his fourth world title. His Welsh Open odds will be similarly short and he is definitely one to consider backing.

A £25 stake on Mark Selby to win the world championship would return £150. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
