Masters royalty take to the table in the evening match at Alexandra Palace as three-time winner and reigning champion Mark Selby faces two-time former champ John Higgins for a place in the semis.

Mark Selby to score one century @ 13/8

Having claimed his third Masters trophy in six seasons last year, there are not many players more comfortable on the Ally Pally cloth than Mark Selby.

This factor alone could be enough to swing punters in the direction of the Jester’s odds of 4/7 to find a way past world number 11 John Higgins, who last made a Masters final when winning in 2006.

However, with the Scot having triumphed in their previous two encounters it’s not a nailed on eventuality, so dipping into the breaks markets could be favourable for this contest.

After getting to the final of the UK’s and making five century breaks en-route in December, Selby was a little rusty when going the distance in the last 16 here, needing a deciding frame to oust Mark Davis.

However, that average at the UK’s of building a hundred break every 1.4 games suggests he’s good value for another one here.

Shaun Murphy to make highest break v Fu @ 8/11

Marco Fu compiled the highest break of the tournament to date in his victory over Judd Trump of 138 to set up this clash, however, he did not get near that whopper in the rest of the match.

Meanwhile, Shaun Murphy is one of three quarter finalists not to hit a Masters century so far, though breaks on 99, 71 and 64 showed the Englishman is not far away from a biggy in this showdown.
