Ronnie O’Sullivan is back in action this week and the Rocket heads into the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix as the outright favourite to win with the sponsors.
After his emphatic showing and subsequent victory at the Welsh Open, O’Sullivan goes into the world ranking event in Llandudno as the 2/1 favourite to claim another title.
The Rocket’s main competition comes in the form of his conqueror in the final of the event last year, Judd Trump and Neil Robertson, who are priced at 6/1 apiece
With Ronnie at the table, however, the prospect of a maximum break – should he be in the mood – is always looming and we’re offering odds of 2/1 on a 147 being scored at an time during the tournament.
Just to grease the wheels somewhat, we’ve also vowed to double the prize paid by World Snooker should the magical 147 be hit by any player over the next week.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The Rocket’s all the rage with punters and they are backing him off the boards for success in Llandudno.”
O’Sullivan himself can be backed at 8/1 to score a maximum, while it’s 16/1 he falls one short and posts a 146.
Anyone else reaching 146 is deemed a 5/1 shot and our snooker traders have also priced up some special markets including a World Grand Prix and Players Championship double for Trump at 20/1, while it’s a 25/1 shot that Mark Selby gets his name on both of those high-profile trophies this year.
