Venue: Murrayfield, Edinburgh, Date: February 12th, 2011,
Coverage: Live on BBC1, Kick Off: 5.00pm

Murrayfield will host a match on Saturday between two sides with contrasting fortunes, and the hosts are the favourites to take advantage of their guests current plight.

Wales are on a eight-match winless streak while Scotland enter the game having won four of their last six, including a win over world champions South Africa.

Match Odds

Last year’s match was the tie of the tournament as Wales ran in 17 points in the last five minutes to secure a 31-24 victory, and with both sides favouring an open game, we could be in for a classic.

Scotland’s three tries against France and home advantage means they are the 8/13 favourites to beat Wales on Saturday.

But Wales hold the upper hand in Six Nations matches between the two with seven wins to Scotland’s three, and they shouldn’t be written off at 5/4 to beat Scotland.

Tries

It’s a tie that historically produces plenty of tries – 49 in 11 games – and 24 of these have come in four games at Murrayfield (one game didn’t produce any tries).

Welsh youngsters Morgan Stoddard and Jonathan Davies were two players to stand out in a poor Welsh performance, and the two are 11/4 and 7/2 to score any time respectively.

Two of Scotland’s three tries against France came from their Forwards, and backing John Barclay and Kelly Brown to 13/2 to score any time represents solid value.

Handicap

Only three of the 11 Six Nations games have produced a winning margin of less than three points, and backing Scotland (-9) at 15/8 looks the pick of the handicap markets.

Scotland have beaten Wales by 12, 10 and 8 points in the Six Nations and backing the Scots to win by 6-10 at 9/2 or 11-15 at 13/2 would provide a decent return.

A £25 stake on James Hook scoring the first try would return £525. New customers can sign up here for a free Six Nations bet worth £25.
