In the aftermath of consecutive Test losses at the hands of South Africa, England coach Stuart Lancaster is set to overhaul his starting lineup, in the hope of justifying 7/2 odds for victory.

Lancaster today revealed his starting lineup for Saturday’s clash, with six cuts made from the side that lost 36-27 last week, paving the way for two full debuts.

Saracens prospect Alex Goode is one of those who will be making his first start, with the 24-year-old set to be given the chance to impress in a full-back role, as Ben Foden is switched to a left-wing berth amidst David Strettle’s omission.

Goode’s first international appearance came in last week’s clash with South Africa, but having only been introduced in the 78th minute in that match, he will be eager to impress from the off this weekend.

New Zealand-born Thomas Waldrom is the other player in line to make his international bow meanwhile, as a string of impressive performances for Leicester continues to win him much acclaim.

Waldrom will take up his favoured number eight position, as the 29-year-old aims to forge an international career which is late by its inception.

Meanwhile, Danny Care, James Haskell, Alex Corbisiero and Tom Palmer are all recalled to the starting lineup, as England aim to avoid a series whitewash in Port Elizabeth.

Care will be ending a particularly lengthy exile from the international game, after withdrawal from the 2011 World Cup squad preceded his omission from this year’s Six Nations tournament, amidst drink-driving charges.

Coach Lancaster has been impressed by the application of his latest squad additions, and feels they are worthy of a chance, telling BBC Sport, “I am really pleased for Alex. He has worked hard in training and has been pushing Mike Brown and Ben Foden close, so we are looking forward to him bringing his footballing skills to this Test.

“Danny Care likewise has bided his time in a very competitive position, knuckled down and deserves his chance.”
