The two favourites for Grand Final glory – Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors – meet in a clash of the titans at the top end of Super League tonight.
With the winner of the clash moving clear at the top of the Super League table, it promises to be as intriguing a match as we’ve seen between the clubs over recent meetings.
Wigan are without a number of key men in Sean O’Loughlin, Michael McIlorum and Joel and Sam Tomkins, but do welcome England half-back George Williams back into their squad. Warrington, meanwhile, are missing Man of Steel contender Chris Sandow through injury, an influential figure in most of their big wins this season.
The Warriors were made to work hard by bottom club Huddersfield last week and were rusty in attack – as they have been all year, exemplified by the fact they are the division’s second-lowest scorers – something which can’t be said about Warrington.
The Wolves put in a fine performance to record a 28-16 away win over the Warriors at the beginning of this month, and are 15/8 to claim victory between 1 and 12 points again, while it is 11/8 for a repeat of a Warrington Half-time/Full-time result.
After spending time on dual registration at Rochdale, Tom Lineham returns to the Warrington fold this week aiming to recapture his early-season try-scoring form.
It is 4/1 for both Lineham and fellow Wolves winger Kevin Penny to cross the line thanks to our Enhanced Anytime Tryscorer Double, a tasty price considering they’ve got 19 tries between them in Super League this season.
