UK BOOKIES are running scared of Wayne Rooney and his head according to Ladbrokes.
Punters up and down the land now believe the striker and his head will fire England to glory against Italy; it’s 6/1 from 8/1 he scores a header at any time in the match and a massive 500/1 he lands a historic ‘hatrick of headers’.
The firm can’t split the teams when it comes to match betting at 9/5 each while the odds on a draw are short at 2/1 suggesting the match will be decided
Mario Balotelli is likely to attract attention again and the book is open on who will foul him first. Scott Parker is the 3/1 favourite leaving teammate Lescott a 4/1 chance.
The match is also expected to break bet-in-play records with an estimated £150 a second to be struck on mobile devices alone. Should England go a goal down that figure is predicted to double with bet-in-play turnover to break the million pound mark if the game goes beyond the ninety minute mark.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Punters are banking on the bonce of Rooney. Should he net another header it will leave us reeling.”
