RAFAEL BENITEZ’S odds of taking over at Aston Villa have been slashed today by Ladbrokes.

A 10/1 chance this morning, the money has poured in for the ex-Anfield boss all afternoon and he’s now the 5/2 joint favourite with Mark Hughes.

Steve McLaren is a 3/1 chance with Carlo Ancelotti 9/2 and still the subject of some support.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Rafa is the flavour today and he’s the only man the punters want. He’s homing in on Mark Hughes and should be favourite for the job soon.

“These next manager gambles are keeping us all on our toes. We’ve just got to try to stay on the right side of them.”
