Poll Result: Mourinho out of order for banishing medic

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is out of order for banishing physiotherapist Eva Carneiro from the bench and should instead question Eden Hazard’s involvement in the situation.

That is the finding of the latest Ladbrokes News poll which asked readers if the medic has been harshly treated by the so-called Special One.

The answer was a resounding yes, with 94 per cent of the votes saying that Mourinho is simply picking on his colleague and using her as a scapegoat for the champions’ opening day draw with Swansea.

As anyone with even rudimentary arithmetic skills has already worked out just six per cent of our readers sided with Jose and said his actions were fair.

The fallout occurred when Carneiro treated Hazard on the pitch meaning the Belgian would have to leave the field and leave the Blues down to eight outfield players following goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois’ dismissal.

Showing his displeasure after the game Mourinho said “I was unhappy with my medical staff. They were impulsive and naive.

“Whether you are a kit man, a doctor or secretary on the bench you have to understand the game”.

The club seem to be backtracking on these comments and according to sources at Stamford Bridge, plans were already in place to relieve Carneiro of her matchday duties before the weekend’s events.

Whether this is true or not remains to be seen but one thing is for sure – Jose’s not winning any new fans with this latest tantrum.
