Jurgen Klopp should end Steven Gerrard’s MLS adventure and bring the former England international back to Liverpool.
That’s the view of Ladbrokes News voters in today’s poll, which asked if the Reds should re-sign their legendary ex-skipper.
Some 65 per cent of said Liverpool should absolutely snap up the midfield general, believing that even in the twilight of his career he would be a benefit to the club.
Gerrard was expected to train with the Reds during the MLS off-season, but after a number of calls to Klopp he is now expected to pull on the red jersey once again.
It is understood that LA Galaxy are unwilling to consider a loan deal, similar to the ones that saw David Beckham leave California for two temporary spells with AC Milan, and will instead demand a transfer fee for their star player.
A sizeable number – 35 per cent – reckoned the Merseyside club should move on and not renew ties with Gerrard, perhaps believing Klopp needs to look forward and not back in the pursuit of success at Anfield.
Whatever happens, it seems Gerrard is destined for a return to the club one day, but will it be as a player?
