It’s safe to say that nobody will forget the political events of 2016 in a hurry. But we aren’t here to look back on the past, mainly because you can’t bet on it.

So what’s in store for 2017?

Our trading team have racked their heads around the possibilities which may await us in the coming months, and priced up a range of specials.

One of which involves Theresa May, with the bookies going 3/1 the Prime Minister is replaced some time between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.

But over in the Labour corner, Jeremy Corbyn is just 7/4 to be replaced at any point in 2017.

Meanwhile, the embattled Labour leader is 9/2 to ever become Prime Minister.

With the Government expected to press ahead with the decision to leave the European Union, we can expect a turbulent year in Westminster.

Tory member and International Trade Secretary Liam Fox is the 5/1 favourite to be the first of May’s Cabinet to leave their post next year.

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson is 6/1, with May herself a 10/1 shot to be gone first.

And of course, it’s been a pretty big political year across the pond in America too, where Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in November’s US Election.

The latest odds say Trump is 6/4 to leave office via impeachment or resignation before the end of his first term.

It’s odds-on at 4/7 that the real estate mogul isn’t re-elected for a second term in the White House, while 7/1 says Nigel Farage becomes the next UK Ambassador to the United States.
