Things are now getting slightly more serious as the safety net bet has discovered four consecutive winners and the pressure now lies on Gilles Simon to extend this run to a fifth victory.
After starting with £50 in our bank and being given the task of making at least £20 each day, our account now sits at a healthy £130.50 following our successful tennis tip yesterday.
Florian Mayer ensured that our nerves jangled for a small period before eventually beating Dustin Brown in three sets at the Gerry Weber Open to land odds of 1/4.
We are not opting for such short odds today as we head to the other grass court tournament at Queens, where Simon takes on French left-hander Adrian Mannarino in second round action at the AEGON Championships.
Simon will be fresh after receiving an opening-round bye and is in decent form after reaching the fourth round of the French Open, where he eventually fell to Robin Soderling.
Meanwhile, Mannarino is positioned 38 places below Simon in the ATP rankings and his previous grass court record does not inspire much confidence.
Mannarino may have caused a small upset to beat Ernests Gulbis in the opening round at Queens, but at Nottingham last week he was dumped out 6-4, 6-1 by little known Stephane Bohli.
Simon is 2/5 to beat Mannarino in the tennis odds and will certainly want to have a good run in the tournament ahead of Wimbledon.
With our aim of making £20 profit each day, we will be staking £50 on Simon successfully progressing into round three, with a victory turning our £130.50 into £150.50.
Today’s stake: £50
Best case scenario: £150.50
Worst case scenario: £80.50
Last safety net bet: Florian Mayer to beat Dustin Brown at 1/4
