The battle to be the next James Bond is hotting up, according to our latest odds.

The market is now more wide open than ever, with six different stars priced at 10/1 or shorter to take the 007 gig.

Tom Hiddleston is the current 6/4 favourite for the role, following a flurry of bets on the 37-year-old last week.

He’s followed by 4/1 shot Idris Elba, with Tom Hardy next in the running at 5/1. It’s then 8/1 for Man of Steel star Henry Cavill to swap his cape for a tux.

And joined together at 10s are Aidan Turner and James Norton.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Plenty have headed the market to replace Daniel Craig and while the odds make Tom Hiddleston clear favourite at this stage, at least five other names can’t yet be ruled out.”
