Colin Firth’s year looks set to get even better if the Ladbrokes BAFTA odds are anything to go by.

Following his success in the Golden Globes this week, Firth is huge favourite in the BAFTA betting to claim the leading actor award at 1/25.

Firth won the award last year for his role in Tom Ford’s A Single Man and would be the first man to win consecutive leading actor awards since Rod Steiger in the mid-1960s.

In a reversal of the Oscar odds, The King’s Speech is also favourite to come away with best film at 4/7, while The Social Network is second favourite at 6/4.

Backing British film The King’s Speech at 4/7 could certainly be worth a bet. In previous year’s British films The Last King of Scotland, The Queen, Atonement and Slumdog Millionaire have all come away with the prestigious award.

Backing The King’s Speech looks even more tempting with a free bet. Simply follow this link to claim your free £25 bet to use as you see fit.

The leading actress category looks to be equally as conclusive as the leading actor award, with Natalie Portman a big favourite at 1/4 for her role in Black Swan.

Elsewhere, Helena Bonham Carter is favourite for best supporting actress with odds of 2/5, while Christian Bale can be backed in the best supporting actor category at 4/9.

A £25 bet on Pete Postlethwaite to win Best Supporting Actor would return £150. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
