A Ladbrokes customer has placed £1k on Cambridge winning this year’s Boat Race.

At odds of 4/11, the light blue squad are clear favourites to win the annual event, while Oxford are currently 2/1 shots to win for the second year in a row.

The bookies are also going 16/1 about either crew sinking, while 16/1 says a new record is set on the Thames.

As for the women’s race, Cambridge are huge favourites at 1/4 ahead of Oxford (9/4) with a dead heat being priced at 100/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “One punter in particular is seemingly confident in Cambridge, who’ll head into the race as clear favourites ahead of their bitter rivals.”
