Whoever wins the battle between the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans in Thursday Night Football will take the outright lead in the AFC South.
Both sides sit level with 3-2 records after the first five games of the season, but it’s the Colts who arrive on a hot streak having claimed their trio of victories in consecutive outings.
Quarterback Andrew Luck’s side have beaten the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens by a combined score of 105-47 in that run of wins and rightly take 4/6 favouritism into their NRG Stadium visit.
Not only are they finding a winning groove this season, but they have a long history of Texans-bashing behind them too.
Indianapolis lead the head-to-head series between the two clubs by a mammoth 20-4 and have claimed all of the last three tussles.
The Colts have also taken the spoils over their divisional rivals on a Thursday before, winning 19-16 at home back in 2011.
In general the two-time Super Bowl champions love kicking off the week’s schedule, taking all of their last nine to be played on Thursday nights with seven of them coming on the road.
The only thing the 6/5 Texans have to cling to is that four of this season’s five TNF fixtures have been claimed by the home side, but even that isn’t enough to side with Ryan Fitzpatrick’s side.
Elsewhere in game’s betting markets, take a look at the 5/2 on Luck scoring a touchdown at anytime. He has rushed for three scores but is yet to throw for one in his two games on a Thursday.
The 10/1 on teammate Reggie Wayne crossing into the endzone first should also be considered – the wide receiver out of New Orleans has six touchdowns in his last seven TNF appearances.
