Firebeam is the red-hot favourite for today’s Class 3 Conditions Stakes at Haydock and so it’s no surprise to see seven tipsters nap him.

The 11/10 favourite for today’s 16:00 at Haydock may have seven naps today, but only one of those tipsters can boast a positive return for his selections this season and so the form of the tipsters is a negative for the favourite.

Garry Owen of the Daily Record is on a three-nap losing streak despite his naps providing a return of £20.71 for a £1 stake this season, and the other six tipsters are all providing a double figure loss for their selections.

Only Farringdon of the Morning Star can stake a claim to holding any form out of the six others thanks to his winning nap yesterday, and Firebeam is already up against it today.

16:00 Haydock: Firebeam – 11/10

Roger Varian’s Toolain could be the one that halts Firebeam today and connections of the 4/1 second favourite will be hoping to see their three-year-old reproduce the form that saw him win a Listed race as a two-year-old.

This step back in class should help Toolain who has failed to do anything of note since finishing third in a Group 3 race last year, and he should be featuring in the top three at least.

Field Of Dream is also taking a massive step back in class and is available at 5/1.

Luca Cumani’s horse will take to the soft going and has won over today’s 7f trip previously and is also a contender.

But the preference is for the Italian challenger Fugnina who is making his first appearance in this country.

Both of his wins this year have come over a mile and so this drop back in trip will be a test for the three-year-old, but at 12/1 he looks a huge price and she’s worth following today.
