Red Cadeaux was eye-catching in defeat twice last month, but he can regain the winning formula in the biggest race of the day at Newmarket in the Goldsmiths Stakes.
In total there are four televised races, with some of the future stars who showed some of their credentials at Royal Ascot, returning to the racecourse.
13:20 Newmarket: Rewarded @ 4/1
Shantaram is the favourite for the opener and brings the best form having chased home Derby runner-up Main Sequence at Lingfield in May.
He has come out and won since as a heavy odds-on favourite, but made hard work of it on soft ground and conditions are likely to be similar again here.
Valiant is interesting having stayed unbeaten in two starts, but his greenness may be found out in this Group Three company.
Yazdi must have a big chance of proving that his Royal Ascot flop was a blip and enters each-way calculations at 8/1 dropped back in trip, but slight preference is for Rewarded, who should relish the step up in trip to 1m5f and is the most proven on the slower surface.
13:50 Newmarket: Ahern @ 7/2
Sir Prancealot still rates as a star two-year-old after routing a decent field at Sandown in May, but he disappointed slightly at Royal Ascot when fourth in the Coventry Stakes.
There were doubts that he truly saw out the 6f and his stamina will be further tested here on ground softer than anything he has encountered before.
Gale Force Ten warrants respect as a rare Aidan O’Brien runner in the race and took second at Royal Ascot in the Norfolk Stakes, two lengths ahead of Ahern.
But Ahern was arguably staying on stronger late on and can reverse this form over an extra furlong.
14:25 Newmarket: Razorbill @ 7/1
Razorbill gets in here relatively lightly as the handicapper is due to put him up a further 4lb in the future and brings more than solid form.
He just failed to reel in the unbeaten Asatir last time on his handicap bow having raced wide throughout and should appreciate this step up in trip.
His Juddmonte pedigree must also be respected, while he has seemingly continually improved throughout his four-race career to date.
Hajras and Nabucco look the chief dangers, while Trader Jack has each-way claims after running poorly over a lesser 1m at Royal Ascot.
15:00 Newmarket: Red Cadeaux @ 9/4
Red Cadeaux is arguably deserving of a victory after two gallant efforts in defeat behind classy duo St Nicholas Abbey and Sea Moon on his last outings.
His waiting tactics can pay dividends with Harris Tweed in the field, who not only likes to front run, but also seems the main danger.
