Aidan O’Brien’s 2000 Guineas jolly Churchill has come in for more support, forcing us to cut his odds to 6/5 from 5/4 for the first Classic of this year’s Flat Turf season.
The Guineas has always been the target for last year’s champion two-year-old and Dewhurst Stakes winner.
And with O’Brien winning this race seven times in his career it’s no surprise to see the sustained gamble taking place.
And for Churchill backers we’re offering even more to get stuck into with 10/3 on offer for the favourite to win by more than 1.75 lengths.
Meanwhile, it’s 7/1 for the son of Galileo to land the 2000 Guineas/Epsom Derby double.
Elsewhere, O’Brien’s Washington DC has been backed into 8/1 from 9/1 for the Palace House Stakes, the 14:20 at HQ this Saturday.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Despite money coming for others in the 2000 Guineas, there is still a lot of confidence in the favourite, and we’ve had to shorten him further today as a result of that.”
