After a cracking day of racing on Tuesday, we’re back for more on day two of Glorious Goodwood with a massive clash to look forward to in the Qatar Sussex Stakes.
The feature race will see Richard Fahey and Aidan O’Brien go head-to-head with Ribchester looking to see off the challenge of Churchill in the Group One miler.
And we’ve also taken a good look at the rest of the ITV Racing card, with four live races all on the box.
Check them all out below..
You’ve guessed it, folks – yeah, we’re going all-in on Ribchester. He’s short as 10/11 but simply put, we don’t care – he’s one of the best milers around.
With recent wins at Newbury and Royal Ascot in the bag, we reckon he’ll carry on where he left off, despite what will most likely be a stiff challenge from Aidan O’Brien’s Churchill.
With William Buick on-board and conditions likely to suit, Richard Fahey’s four-year-old is the one to beat.
A tough-looking renewal to pick a winner from here, but we’re going for James Tate’s Invincible Spirit at 6/1.
The two-year-old has shown glimpses of serious potential in his last two outings, both at Newmarket, with a win back in June included.
He performed well in his last race, a group two over six furlongs, so the drop back to group three and five furlongs will suit even more.
We’re placing a lot of faith in Richard Fahey on day two of Glorious Goodwood. Having napped Ribchester for later in the day, we’re hoping his 8-year-old gets the card off to a flyer.
It looks another difficult field to predict but a little each-way bet on this 14/1 shot looks tempting. While it’s true he doesn’t exactly have a winning record to fall back on, Fahey has talked up his chances of making a dent and we think he has a point here.
