Well what a performance from Frankel yesterday.

Ultimately the weight allowance got the better of Canford Cliffs but you have to hand it to Sir Henry Cecil’s three–year-old, he is some horse.

Frankel was the only saving grace on a day when our tips struggled but we’re hoping that today’s tips fare a lot better than yesterday’s awful showing.

14.15 Goodwood: Labarinto – 5/1

Five times in the last 10 years has the favourite won this race and Fulgur and Labarinto are battling for favouritism with both available at 10/1.

It’s a strong race for trends this one which is why we’re plumping for Labarinto as his rating, weight and draw mean Sir Michael Stoute’s three-year-old is primed for today’s race.

Eight of the last 10 winners have come from the first three in the betting but Boogie Shoes looks the best of the rest to gain a place at 10/1.

14:45 Goodwood: Noble Storm – 5/1

This may just be the most exciting race of the day as some of the best sprinters in training take to the 5f track at Goodwood.

Punters are looking for a distance winner that is rated highly and while Kingsgate Native and Swiss Diva fulfil that criteria, we’re plumping for Noble Storm.

Ed McMahon’s five-year-old has proven course and distance dorm and comes in to the race off the back of two wins and a second this season.

15:15 Goodwood: Opinion Poll – 5/1

Opinion Poll is favourite for a very good reason and like the first race, five of the last 10 winners were sent off favourite.

The Godolphin horse beat five of today’s field in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot when finishing second behind Fame And Glory and a repeat of that performance will land the prize today.

Tastahill looks the main danger and is a big each-way price at 10/1.
