No doubt that AP McCoy can be a Longshot Lucky 15 star

Having just caught our breath following the opening day of this year’s Cheltenham Festival we’ve been tasked with coming up with another Longshot Lucky 15.

And after our day one effort we’re feeling pretty pleased with ourselves having seen Josses Hill, Glens Melody and Perfect Gentleman deliver a small profit from our four each-way selections (According to Trev let us down but the less said about that the better).

Are you in? Here’s our latest awesome foursome:

13:30 – Neptune Novices’ Hurdle – Ordo Ab Chao

Forget the market leaders. Instead, let’s focus on this Alan King-trained charge.

Some onlookers have been a little bit sniffy about his Grade 2 trials win back in January but not us.

Course form in the book is what we’re interested in and that gives Ordo Ab Chao the nod.

14:05 – RSA Chase – If In Doubt

OK, we’re jumping on the AP McCoy goodwill bandwagon here but bear with us.

Ninth in the Pertemps Network Final last year, this JP McManus-owned chance has been performing well in the green and gold silks recently.

A winner of the Skybet Chase at Doncaster last time out, the seven-year-old is starting to show a real liking for going over fences and is well worth an each-way dabble.

16:00 – Cross Country Chase – Sire Collonges

Not the easiest of races to take on but there’s value to be had, especially in the absence of Cross Country hero, Balthazar King.

Our selection has often been the bridesmaid when the aforementioned horse has been on the scene but now he can turn the tables on the rest of his rivals.

Eighth in last year’s renewal, Sire Collonges was the winner of 2013’s winter edition of this contest and has shown he can mix it with the best.

17:15 – Champion Bumper – Pylonthepressure

Funnily enough, the author of this piece backed Willie Mullins’ Champion Bumper second string in the previous running too.

Black Hercules was fourth that day and has gone on to outline his credentials since that outing.

And Pylonthepressure is looking good to put in a similarly strong showing here having won on all three of his previous starts.

Last time out we witnessed an impressive win when going left-handed at Naas and that’s another tick in the box as far we’re concerned.
