The flat season has gone too quickly. We have had an amazing year and John Gosden’s stable has been flying.

The horses have been performing to their very best which is very hard to do. I’ll be very sad to see the end of 2018.

I am here now at the Breeders’ Cup and I love it. It has a sort of Ryder Cup atmosphere to it – Europe v USA.

This place really brings back some good memories. I had my first Breeders Cup win in 1994, winning on Barathea.

I was only 23-years-old so it was an amazing feeling. That’s when I started my famous flying dismount and I haven’t looked back since.

I ride Enable in the Breeders’ Cup Turf. No horse has ever won the Arc and the Breeders’ Cup but records are there to be broken.

She has only raced twice so she should be fairly fresh and she has travelled well. When you travel halfway around the world, there is always that little bit of fear but all seems well with her.

She is straight forward to ride you know. She ran around Epsom, Chester, and she is so versatile ground wise. We are expecting a lot of rain here but every horse has to deal with it.

Fingers crossed, with a bit of luck that everything goes to plan.

I ride Expert Eye in the Breeders’ Cup Mile. At the beginning of his life, he was a bit of a handful but he is a lovely horse now and is learning how to race.

I won on him at York and then he ran a super race in the Prix du Moulin. Draw is a key factor here and he has been drawn in seven which is not bad as it is so difficult to win from the outside post. There are long stretches but tight bends.

I think you need more of a seven furlong horse rather than a mile horse. It is one of those races where you need a pinch of luck too. This horse has plenty of tactful speed and is good enough to do himself justice in a competitive race.

I am on Eziyra in the Filly & Mare Turf. The only bad thing is the draw; 14 of 14.

It is a mile and three so we will have to fiddle our way through the field. It looks a super strong race but Dermot Weld would not take her here if he didn’t think she had a chance.
