With Tiger Woods scratching for form, Lee Westwood ruled out with injury and Phil Mickelson without a win since April, there is a strong possibility of an upset victory at the USPGA Championship.

World number four Steve Stricker, Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose all feature towards the head of the betting to land a maiden major at Whistling Straits, but there are a number of other stars more than capable of mounting a serious challenge.

YE Yang sprung a surprise when becoming the first Asian major winner in the event last year, while Shaun Micheel and Rich Beem have also been unfancied victors since the turn of the century.

Sean O’Hair is among the darkhorses at 40/1 this year but has shown already in 2010 that he is capable of mixing it on the biggest stage.

He tied for 12th at the US Open and then followed up by taking seventh at the British Open last month.

O’Hair also enjoyed a strong preparation by holding a share of the lead after three rounds at the recent WGC Bridgestone Invitational before eventually finishing fifth behind Hunter Mahan.

In the 50/1 bracket come both Matt Kuchar and Jeff Overton, who have both performed strongly on the PGA Tour this season without managing to secure victory.

Kuchar has finished in the top-ten on four of his last six starts, while Overton has taken the runner-up position three times on the PGA Tour in 2010 and performed particularly impressively in the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

He ranked second in terms of birdies, tied sixth in the putting department and a share of seventh in finding greens in regulation.

Bo Van Pelt is an 80/1 shot despite being one of only two players to finish under-par in all four rounds of the last PGA Tour event and has gained top-ten results in three majors in the past.

He is 6/1 to secure a top-ten finish again this year.

Tiger Woods is 16/1 to win a 15th career major, while he is 8/1 to finish the tournament as the top USA player.
