What a week the PGA Tour is in for when the world’s best 64 players descend on the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Marana, Arizona, this week, and there is plenty of value for punters to find in the WGC-Accenture Match Play betting.
At 66/1 we’re tipping Ross Fisher to win this week as the Englishman is a previous Volvo World Match Play champion and a semi-finalist here in 2009, and after finishing 10th in Dubai on his last start, the Englishman is coming into form at the right time.
Ian Poulter was the winner here last year and he too is a massive price at 33/1 to win this week, but Tiger Woods is the three-time winner of this event and is the 14/1 joint favourite alongside Phil Mickelson and Paul Casey.
Casey, runner-up in the last two years, is without a doubt one of the finest match play players on tour and after ending his search for a win earlier this year, the confident Englishman looks a great bet this week.
Casey opens his challenge against Richard Green and is 1/3 to beat the Australian and a huge price at 5/1 to win the Sam Snead bracket, although Woods is also in the Sam Snead bracket and is 9/2 to win that quarter.
Henrik Stenson is a previous winner and semi-finalist in this event but faces world number one Lee Westwood in the opening round.
However match play isn’t Westwood’s forte having never made it past the second round of this tournament, and backing Stenson at 13/8 to beat Westwood looks a great bet.
Of the American challenge, Stewart Cink, a runner-up and semi-finalist here is a big price at 66/1, and his first round match with Poulter could provide the winner of the Ben Hogan bracket.
Poulter is 8/1 to win the Ben Hogan bracket with Cink available at 14/1.
A £25 stake on Ross Fisher winning in Arizona would return £1,675. New customers can sign up here for a free bet worth £25.
