The inaugural D+D REAL Czech Masters is next on the European Tour schedule and it’s those big names looking to sew up a Ryder Cup spot who look most likely to be battling it out for the trophy according to Ladbrokes.

What a trophy it is too, 63cm tall and made of melted glass, a unique reward for the lowest shooter around the 7,466 yard, par 72 Albatross Golf Resort course on the outskirts of Prague.

Welshman Jamie Donaldson leads the way in the betting at 12/1 and is currently eighth in the points list and on the European team for Gleneagles as it stands in the penultimate week of qualification for the Ryder Cup.

Having rescued some shaky form with an eight-under-par card at the PGA Championship for a tie of 24th, Donaldson is certainly due a win in a season of near misses.

Meanwhile, of the cluster of other players flirting with an automatic place on Paul McGinley’s side, Stephen Gallacher (20/1) and 14/1-shot Joost Luiten are in hot pursuit – ranked 11th and 15th on the Ryder Cup points list respectively.

Of those two players Gallacher holds more attraction not least for the price as although he missed the cut at the PGA, his last three finishes on the European Tour read 18, 4, 15, the last of which being the Open Championship.

Gallacher also has fond memories on Czech soil after claiming his first professional title on the Challenge Tour back in 1998.

However, Englishman Oliver Fisher at 33/1 may just be the pick of the bunch here as he’s in fine touch.

The last winner of a European Tour event in the Czech Republic back in 2011 to boot, Fisher is regularly breaking par ahead of the tournament with his last three finishes reading 12, 9, T4, with the only blip being a missed cut at Hoylake.
