Football could finally be coming home if England’s latest odds to win the World Cup are anything to go by.

Patriotic punters have been flocking to back the Three Lions following Sunday’s crushing 6-1 victory over Panama in Nizhny Novgorod.

As a result, our traders have had little option but to cut England’s odds to win the tournament once again. From 14/1 10 days ago, Gareth Southgate’s men are now just 8/1 for outright victory in Russia.

It’s the shortest price Harry Kane and co. have been for the World Cup and it comes ahead of Thursday’s Group G decider against Belgium.

Spain are the new favourites for the tournament after they secured qualification for the knockout rounds against Morocco last night. Fernando Hierro’s men lead the way at 9/2.

They’re followed by Brazil (11/2), Germany (7/1), Belgium (15/2) and France (15/2) before England at 8s.

Croatia are a little further back at 16/1, while Portugal complete the big-name contenders at a nice round 20/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “England’s odds of winning the World Cup have never been shorter as patriotic punters up and down the country continue to get behind Southgate’s squad.”
