England couldn’t have asked for a better World Cup draw than the one they’ve got in Russia this summer.

And that’s why they’re now just 7/2 to go all the way – shorter than any England side since they lifted the trophy back in 1966.

Gareth Southgate’s side are only behind Brazil (11/4) in the betting.

They face Sweden in the quarter-finals. A win will see them face either Croatia or Russia in the semi-finals.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Lady Luck has been very much on England’s side so far this year, and odds of the Three Lions going all the way have hit record lows as a result.”
