WATCH: Which goal gets your vote for the 2015 Puskas Award?

Fleetwood’s very own David Ball may have missed the cut but we’ve still got three pretty special goals to savour following the announcement of the FIFA Puskas Award shortlist.

Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi and Goianesia (Google it) striker Wendell Lira have seen their respective efforts recognised and now it’s up to a public vote to decide who’ll take the prestigious gong.

And to keep up appearances we’ve put the stunning trio together in this handy article.

Watch all three strikes below and cast your vote at the FIFA website.

Alessandro Florenzi – ROMA v Barcelona, Champions League, September 15

Ah, who doesn’t love seeing a marauding full-back in full flight? Especially when they can deliver an end product like this.

Florenzi’s powerful run from a deep lying position and subsequent long-range chip of Barca goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen is a thing of beauty.

Wendell Lira – Atletico-GO vs GOIANESIA, Brazilian Goiano, 11 March 2015

Get your mates together and start trying to re-create this golazo. You’ll be hard pressed to match the intricate mid-air contortions and measured finish from Brazilian striker Lira.

There’s more to this effort than just the finish though with the team move that precedes Lira’s acrobatics silky smooth and bursting with South American flair.

Lionel Messi – BARCELONA vs Athletic Bilbao, Copa del Rey, 30 May 2015

The little man for the big occasion, Messi could clean up at this year’s FIFA awards ceremony with this goal in the Copa del Rey final just one of the many to feature on the 28-year-old’s career highlight reel.

This incredible mazy run and composed finish is the stuff of every kid’s dreams.

It didn’t look like there was much on when the Argentine superstar received the ball but a quick turn and the small matter of beating numerous opponents before cutting inside to arrow a shot into the corner of the net is all in a day’s work for this guy.

Unbelievable Jeff.
