Take on the Professor: Will Sunderland fan bring Black Cats luck?

The Premier League is back and so is The Professor with yet another challenger ready and willing to take on our bearded calculator.

This week it’s the turn of Sunderland fan @RMCS1996 ahead of his team’s Super Sunday clash against Tottenham.

Will his predictions bring the Black Cats any luck or will Spurs leave the Stadium of Light with all three points?

Mackems, get behind your man because he’ll need more than just good fortune if he’s hoping to beat a guy who makes Statto look like Andy Townsend.

Here’s a quick recap on things as they stand…

2015-09-11So, let’s get down to business.

Ryan’s been given a £25 FREE BET to use as he wishes and you’d like to think he’ll put his money where his mouth is with regards to his tips below.

The format is simple.

For each correct pick, the entrant will be awarded the odds paid out on that selection.

For example, a correct 20/1 selection will reward 20 points. There will be no penalty for an incorrect selection.

Hmm, both of our tipsters think there will be goals but they’re divided on the outcome.

Here’s what The Prof has to say…

– Tottenham are unbeaten in their last 10 games against Sunderland in the Premier League and they’ve won three, drawn two in their previous two trips to the Stadium of Light
– Both teams have been draw specialists of late though with Spurs drawing their last three and Sunderland forced to share the points in their two matches prior to this fixture.
– Both teams have shown they can score goals but keeping them out at the other end has been a problem. The visitors have recorded three clean sheets in their last eight while the Black Cats have been breached in each of their last five matches.
– Sunderland have trailed at the break in four of their last five outings before going on to secure a point in two of those contests.
– There’s been no real malice in previous encounters. You have to go back five meetings for the last red card issues with David Vaughan the guilty party in May 2013.
