Yaya Toure now odds-on to never play for Manchester City again

Ladbrokes have slashed the odds of Yaya Toure never playing for Manchester City again to just 4/6, following an ongoing dispute between his agent, Dimitri Seluk and Citizens boss Pep Guardiola.

Earlier in the summer, Seluk expressed his frustration after his client was left out of Guardiola’s Champions League plans, and he went on to say the new City manager would have to apologise to him and Toure should he fail to win the Champions League this season.

And while the Spanish boss has been busy working with his side which are yet to drop a point so far in the Premier League, he found time yesterday to offer Seluk an ultimatum: ‘say sorry or your client doesn’t play.’

However, Seluk chose not to do as Guardiola had asked and the outspoken agent instead retaliated by saying he had nothing to apologise for.

As a result of that, what we’re essentially left with is a match bet in this market, and right now 4/6 says Toure will never play for City again, while it’s even-money for his agent to make a public apology which would see the recently-retired Ivory Coast international back in Guardiola’s first-team plans.

Should the duo come to their senses and do what is being asked of them, it’s unlikely to be via a grand gesture, as we’re offering 500/1 for Toure and Seluk to be spotted outside of Guardiola’s house on their knees, begging for forgiveness.

Meanwhile, the world will be watching Toure’s every move on social media, and our traders are offering odds of 2/1 for the midfield powerhouse to unfollow his current club’s official Twitter account.

The Citizens are away in the EFL Cup to Swansea City tonight, and while our traders’ eyes will be on the game, their ears will be very much on the crowd, as punters will be looking to cash in on fans chanting Toure’s name throughout the match at 1/5.

A spokesperson for Ladbrokes said: “This saga could go one of two ways, but at the moment, Dimitri Seluk’s stubbornness looks likely to force Toure out of the Etihad.”
