Despite a solid 10th-placed finish in the Premier League in 2016-17, West Bromwich Albion were let down by one of the division’s poorer attacking records, netting just 43 goals.
However, Tony Pulis could be set to rectify that issue this summer – with the Baggies boss closing in on the signature of Crotone duo Marcus Rohden and Diego Falcinelli.
Swedish midfielder Roden has been one of Pitogorici’s most reliable performers this term, and netted the winner against Udinese in the club’s last home game, to give them a shot at final-day Serie A survival.
Having also impressed for the national side during recent months, it’s no surprise to see Pulis interested – and it’s 11/10 he makes the Hawthorns his new home, with 5/4 for the move to happen as soon as this summer.
However, while the Varnamo native has enjoyed a solid campaign, it’s teammate Falcinelli whose potential arrival should really excite Baggies fans.
The 25-year-old striker has netted 12 of the club’s 31 top-flight goals this season, including a brace against Inter Milan last month.
But while you might think Crotone would be unlikely to sell him – it isn’t their choice.
Falcinelli is actually on loan from Serie A outfit Sassuolo. And with his current stint at Stadio Ezio Scida the fifth time he’s been loaned out by his employers, chances are they’d be unlikely to object to their surprisingly unfavoured hitman exiting on a permanent deal.
Meanwhile, you can get odds of 9/2 for Crotone’s star pair to both head to the Hawthorns during the summer months. If that happens, the Baggies could be boinging up the table next term…
