Watford too big to ignore at 2/1 to beat Everton this weekend

It’s never too early to start thinking about the weekend, and Watford’s game with Everton at Vicarage Road gets the Premier League action underway this Saturday lunch-time. A quick-look at the table shows the hosts three spots below the Merseysiders, but we fancy there’s plenty of value in backing a Watford win.

The bookies make Everton 11/8 favourites, with Watford the outsiders at 2/1 – a price we think is too good to ignore.

Just two points separate Walter Mazzarri’s men from Ronald Koeman’s in what is proving to be a mightily competitive mid-table.

Watford may have lost their last two, but they’re never easy to beat at home, and have already seen off Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United this season.

Everton meanwhile, are on a four-game winless streak, and can claim a sole win over West Ham in their last nine fixtures.

Only a Leighton Baines penalty spared the Toffees last time out against Man United, and the Goodison Park outfit have claimed just seven points from nine.

And after opening the campaign with 10 goals in just five games, Everton have gone quiet up front lately, netting just seven in the last nine.

The Toffees haven’t been travelling well either, winning just two of their last 13 fixtures on the road – losing each of the most recent five.

That’s included trips to Bournemouth and Burnley, and there’s no reason to suggest heading to Watford will be any easier than those.

There’s little between Watford and Everton in the table, and there’s little between them in terms of form either.

With the Hornets on home ground, they simply seem excellent value at 2/1.

The hosts are above Evens too at 11/10 in the Draw No Bet, while 4/7 still looks appealing for Watford and Draw Double Chance.
