While Middlesbrough look doomed to relegation and Hull City are still entrenched in a battle against the drop, Burnley have passed their Premier League test with flying colours, following the trio’s promotion from the Championship last term.
Currently in 14th place, the Clarets are actually just two points outside the top half of the table. And there’s good reason to think they can come good on the 11/2 to finish the season in the top 10.
First off, the Lancashire side have two of their remaining three games at Turf Moor – and their record there is something special.
Burnley have the sixth-best home record in the division, with the 32 points they’ve taken from 17 games more than the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United have managed at their respective grounds.
And Sean Dyche’s men enjoy a pretty favourable run of fixtures between now and the end of the season.
First up is a West Bromwich Albion side who have lost their past four games without registering a goal. And they’re followed by a patchy Bournemouth side, and a West Ham United team who’ve managed one win in 11.
The Clarets also head into those games on the back of a highly impressive 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace. And having finally broken their away duck with a first Prem win on the road, you’d have to fancy them to play with more freedom and confidence at the Vitality Stadium.
And unlike some of the sides around them, the Clarets have a bonafide match winner in the form of Andre Gray.
He’s netted nine times in the league since Christmas, including winners against the likes of Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
